La Provence reports that Olympique de Marseille president Pablo Longoria has begun discussions with owner Franck McCourt about leaving the club.

RMC Sport reports the same development, with a departure possible in the coming weeks.

Earlier this week he was shifted to an institutional role, with sporting control handed to Medhi Benatia.

The shake-up follows the exit of head coach Roberto De Zerbi and Benatia’s short-lived announcement that he was leaving. On Sunday night he said he was ending his collaboration with Marseille, before being placed in charge of sporting matters on Tuesday.

If Longoria goes, OM would lose its voice on the Ligue de Football Professionnel board, as no other club representative is currently eligible.
