Exequiel Palacios has not asked to leave Bayer Leverkusen, while Ipswich Town have become the first club to table an official offer for the midfielder. The proposal is understood to be about €20 million.

Bild reports that Palacios has not personally signalled a desire to depart and that newly promoted Ipswich lodged the bid in recent hours.

The report said Leverkusen would only be open to negotiations at roughly double that figure.

The Premier League promotees approached the player and their offer was regarded as too low.

Earlier today, Palacios took part in a final training session before a trip to England.
