Palmeiras allege Corinthians staff member assaulted Luighi after derby

According to Nosso Palestra, Palmeiras said in a statement that forward Luighi was assaulted by a Corinthians staff member after the 0-0 clássico. The report also states Corinthians said Gabriel Paulista and Breno Bidon were attacked by Palmeiras security.

Palmeiras’ note was published minutes after full-time. It alleges the incident happened as the teenager headed for anti-doping in the access area to the dressing rooms.

The player, together with witnesses, will register the case with Jecrim, the Special Criminal Court.

On the pitch, Corinthians and Palmeiras drew 0-0 at Neo Química Arena in the 11th round of the Brasileirão. Corinthians had two dismissals, André for an obscene gesture on 34 minutes of the first half, and right-back Matheuzinho for striking Flaco López on 23 of the second.

Both clubs have issued opposing accounts of post-match events as tempers flared beyond the final whistle.
