Palmeiras announce return of Lorena Benitez

According to Nosso Palestra, Palmeiras have re-signed Argentina midfielder Lorena Benitez. She returns after two seasons with Boca Juniors, agreeing her comeback on Friday 30.

Benitez previously represented Palmeiras in 2023, making 30 appearances and scoring three goals.

She said she was delighted to be back, had wished for the moment for a long time, and described returning to Brazil’s biggest as a dream.

A regular with Argentina, Benitez came to prominence at the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France. She also featured at the 2023 tournament in Australia.

Benitez is Palmeiras’ seventh signing for the season. Bia Zaneratto, Duda Santos, Ana Guimarães, Layssa Santos, Duda Basílio and Glaucia have also agreed with the club for 2026.
