Palmeiras have announced the signing of Jhon Arias from Wolverhampton, with the 28-year-old Colombian agreeing a deal through to the end of 2029.
According to Globo.com, talks accelerated on Thursday after Fluminense could not match the 25 million euros, around R$ 155 million, that Palmeiras will pay in instalments over four years. With wages and a signing-on fee agreed, he becomes their second addition of this window after Marlon Freitas.
Arias was a standout at Fluminense between 2021 and 2025, winning a Libertadores, a Recopa Sudamericana and two Carioca titles before moving to England.
He joined Wolverhampton in July 2025, but the stint proved frustrating. He made 26 appearances, scoring two goals and supplying one assist for a side who sit bottom of the Premier League.
The arrival of Arias boosts Abel Ferreira’s attacking options, which already include Vitor Roque, Flaco López, Sosa, Allan, Paulinho, Luighi, Bruno Rodrigues, Felipe Anderson and Riquelme Fillipi.
