According to Globo.com, Palmeiras entered the second half of 2026 with accumulated revenue of R$ 617.5m by the end of July and a deficit of R$ 156.4m. Both were below budget, which had projected R$ 778.5m in revenue and a R$ 21.9m surplus.

The shortfall stems from a decision to retain key players, with bids such as for Flaco López turned down. A change of tack came with Allan’s sale to Manchester City for about R$ 240m, expected to hit the books from August alongside smaller deals.

Net operating revenue reached R$ 494.4m against R$ 772.3m budgeted. Most lines undershot plan, including broadcast, sponsorship, matchday, social income, Avanti and other revenues, which totalled R$ 104.2m against R$ 347.7m.

Within that, the club booked R$ 43.4m from the Nubank Parque arena and R$ 60.4m from player sales. Financial income stood at R$ 123m and prize money at R$ 16.4m, above the R$ 8m budgeted.

Recent exits include goalkeeper Kaique to Sporting for about R$ 24m, defender Naves to Necaxa for around R$ 15m, of which R$ 10m to Palmeiras, and forward Riquelme Fillipi to Inter Miami for about $6m.

The approach was treated as a calculated risk to prioritise performance and lift income from prizes, ticketing, Avanti and sponsor bonuses, with a World Cup pause also denting gate receipts. Prize money is set to rise, nearing R$ 50m after reaching the Copa do Brasil semi-finals, already above plan after the team met its target of at least the quarter-finals.
