Pathé Ciss ‘refused to train’ at Rayo in bid to force exit | OneFootball

Pathé Ciss refused to train with Rayo Vallecano on Monday as he seeks to force a move, Marca reports.

According to EFE, people close to Ciss say he has significant offers from Türkiye and Saudi Arabia and that he is very unhappy with president Raúl Martín Presa, whom he accuses of blocking his sporting progress.

The midfielder believes his cycle at the club is over amid a deep institutional crisis. He has formally asked Rayo to evaluate the proposals he has received.

Rayo, led by Martín Presa, are not considering bids and do not plan to let him leave this summer. They see him as part of Beñat San José’s plans after he started both official matches this season. He can play in defence and as a holding midfielder.

Ciss, 32, is under contract until June 2027, which represents one more season, and his release clause stands at 10 million euros.

This is not the first time he has tried to leave. On 31 January 2023 he had a verbal agreement with Olympique Lyon, who were ready to pay a little over 5 million euros, but Presa refused to negotiate.

The Senegal international has 34 caps. He joined Rayo from Fuenlabrada in 2021 and has made 181 official appearances, scoring 11 goals.
