A champion in Greece, he has four goals and one assist this season. His European experience and national-team presence are valued by the Portuguese coach.

Lyon hope he can broaden their attacking options. Fonseca believes the forward could add fresh impetus in tougher fixtures in Ligue 1, Coupe de France and the Europa League.

Yaremchuk joined Benfica in 2021/22 from Gent for 17 million euros. He made 47 appearances, scored nine and supplied five assists, winning the Portuguese title in 2022/23. He is valued at two and a half million euros.
