Paulo Fonseca’s Lyon future ‘could be reviewed’ after Champions League disappointment | OneFootball

L’Équipe reports that OL are set for changes after missing out on the UEFA Champions League, and the coaching set-up could be among them.

Lyon went out to Fenerbahçe in the final stages of qualifying, losing 3-2 on aggregate.

It was not their first European setback under the Portuguese, with a late collapse against Manchester United and an inadequate display against Celta Vigo seeing them bow out of the UEFA Europa League, perhaps prematurely, in successive seasons.

Fonseca’s contract runs to the end of this season.

With OL seeking to improve their financial position, and without the Champions League revenue, a departure for the former Roma head coach at the end of his deal is plausible as the club look to trim the wage bill.
