Vasco’s 2-1 comeback at Grêmio underlined Pedro Emanuel’s season-long balancing act, with 11 foreigners to fit inside CBF restrictions.

Spinelli also missed the latest list, though he has played more and started six times under Emanuel. It was his first omission, and the arrivals of Colidio and Bruno Duarte have squeezed his minutes.

The Sul-Americana offers chances, since Conmebol sets no cap on foreigners. In the quarter-final first leg Saldivia, Rojas and Spinelli started against Santa Fe. They are expected to return for Tuesday’s home decider at São Januário for a semi-final place.
