Vasco have unveiled 24-year-old Argentine midfielder Alan Lescano, signed from Argentinos Juniors on a four-year deal. He will wear 22 and says he is ready to play.
According to Globo.com, the transfer is worth around US$ 7 million, roughly R$ 36 million. He is the fifth addition for the second half of the season, had been at the top of the club’s scouting list, and consulted compatriots Colidio and Sosa who spoke highly.
Lescano said the club’s facilities, support and stature convinced him this was an important step. He has already spoken with the coach about plans for the team and aims to meet expectations and help wherever needed.
His early targets are to help the side move away from the lower end of the table and to compete deep into both cups. He told fans they can expect total commitment as he tries to push the club as high as possible.
The Argentine is viewed internally as a likely starter and a creative option. He can operate as a 10 close to the forwards or as an advanced 8, but feels most comfortable as an attacking midfielder who arrives in the box and likes scoring.
Lescano began his professional career at Gimnasia in 2022, then joined Argentinos Juniors in 2023. He made 123 appearances there, scoring 27 goals with nine assists.
