Daniel Peretz wants to leave HSV in the winter. FC Bayern have already found a new loan club, but Hamburg are standing in the way

Daniel Peretz wants to leave the club for Southampton FC in the winter – but Hamburger SV is putting the brakes on, as the Abendblatt reports. The goalkeeper, who is on loan from FC Bayern, is pushing for a move to the English second division club. Reports recently made the rounds that the deal was already done and dusted. However, those responsible at the Elbe do not want to know anything about it. Peretz is only to be given transfer clearance when a replacement is ready. A classic stalemate that reveals the tense goalkeeping situation at HSV

It comes as no surprise that Peretz is unhappy with his role. The 25-year-old Israeli came to Hamburg in the summer as an ambitious alternative, but was beaten out by Daniel Heuer Fernandes early on. Peretz has not made any appearances in the league, only making two appearances in the cup. That is not enough for a keeper looking for match practice at the highest level – and FC Bayern are not happy with his development either

Bayern are prepared to terminate the loan prematurely and loan Peretz out again. Southampton FC from the English Championship are ready, including a purchase option. From Munich’s point of view, the plan is clear: Peretz should play regularly to stabilize his market value and develop prospects away from Säbener Straße

HSV, however, are not playing ball. The Hamburgers only want to let Peretz go once a new goalkeeper has been signed who can take on the role of number two behind Heuer Fernandes. Internally, the club is working hard to find a solution, but so far without a deal being finalised. The fact that Peretz wants to leave the club has long been known to those responsible

Coach Merlin Polzin openly confirmed that the keeper’s desire to leave is not a new issue. At the same time, he made it clear that HSV is protecting its interests and does not want to be put under any time pressure. In an already sensitive relegation battle, the club does not want to open up any unnecessary construction sites

Return journey instead of strike – for the time being

Peretz’s absence at the start of training on Friday caused additional unrest. Rumours of a training strike quickly made the rounds, but these were immediately denied by HSV. According to the club, there were problems with the return journey, nothing more. „His flight didn’t work,“ explained Polzin and made it clear that the ongoing talks had nothing to do with the late arrival

The coach expects Peretz to be back on the training pitch at Volkspark at the weekend, but added: „The soccer business is dynamic – a back door that is deliberately left open.
