Petar Ratkov ‘open to’ Sevilla move with loan option mooted | OneFootball

Petar Ratkov is now open to joining Sevilla, with the club exploring a loan with an option to buy, Sky Sport Italia reports.

The 22-year-old has struggled since arriving at Lazio in January as cover for Taty Castellanos. Maurizio Sarri even recast Daniel Maldini as a centre-forward rather than use the Serbian. Gennaro Gattuso has also indicated Ratkov does not fit his approach.

Gattuso has preferred Boulaye Dia for his mobility, and Andrea Pinamonti is close to signing. That scenario would leave Ratkov surplus to requirements.

Despite scant minutes, the former RB Salzburg forward had rejected proposals from Dynamo Moscow and Southampton. With the deadline looming and his standing slipping, he has shifted stance following Sevilla’s approach.

Lazio are also working on a departure for Gabriele Artistico, 24, who is on the verge of joining Serie B club Padova on a permanent deal worth €3.5 million.
