After powering the Philadelphia Union to a sixth straight victory, Milan Iloski has been named MLS Player of the Matchday presented by Michelob ULTRA for Matchday 28 of the 2026 season.

Iloski scored his second hat trick of the season in Philadelphia's 4-2 win over Orlando City, extending the Union's unbeaten streak under interim head coach Ryan Richter to 12 matches (10W-0L-2D) following the FIFA World Cup break. Their 32 points across that span ties an MLS record.

The latest victory came despite a shorthanded squad, with five regular starters away on international duty. That group included Cavan Sullivan, Neil Pierre and Frankie Westfield, who each made their senior U.S. men's national team debuts on Saturday. Andre Blake (Jamaica) and Danley Jean Jacques (Haiti) were also unavailable.

The 27-year-old is the only MLS player with multiple hat tricks this season and the third player in Union history to do so in a single campaign, joining Julián Carranza and Dániel Gazdag. Iloski's 16 regular-season goals are an MLS career high and tied for fourth-most in the league.

Iloski has now earned two career Player of the Matchday honors, previously winning the award on Matchday 20 of the 2025 season.

Philadelphia players have won three of the last four awards, following forward Bruno Damiani (Matchday 25) and Sullivan (Matchday 26).

The Union return from the international break on Oct. 10 when they host Real Salt Lake at Subaru Park (7:30 pm ET | Apple TV).

The MLS Player of the Matchday is selected each matchday of the regular season through both media and fan voting in a process conducted by MLS Communications. A panel of journalists from the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR) comprises 75 percent of the vote, while an Instagram fan vote represents the remaining 25 percent of voting. NASR consists of members of print, television, radio and online media.
