Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has arrived in Agadir to link up with Gabon for CAN 2025, but he will miss their opening match against Cameroon.
According to L'Équipe, the OM forward was ruled out of Wednesday’s game at 21:00 after sustaining a posterior left thigh issue in a mid-December club match. He will be able to attend the team’s first outing on Wednesday evening.
Aubameyang indicated on Snapchat that he had reached Agadir, the squad’s base for the tournament.
The 36-year-old has 84 caps and 39 goals for Gabon.
If he recovers from the injury, he should be able to feature in the remaining group games, against Mozambique on Sunday at 13:30 and Côte d’Ivoire on 31 December at 20:00.
