The Uruguayan federation announced on Wednesday a preliminary squad for the next FIFA window, running from 24 September to 6 October 2026, and among Palmeiras players only Piquerez has made the final list.

Diego Forlán's side have omitted Alexander Barboza and Emiliano Martínez.

After the World Cup, Palmeiras retain representation in Uruguay's set-up. Piquerez and Emiliano Martínez were selected for the tournament and, even without minutes, were part of the full cycle.

Uruguay will play Japan on 24 September, then South Korea on 28 September, both international friendlies.

The window concludes with India v Uruguay on 6 October, also an international friendly.
