A key part of Roma’s direct qualification for the Europa League round of 16 depends on Stuttgart.
On Thursday, January 22nd, at 9:00 PM, the Giallorossi host the Germans at the Olimpico for Matchday 7 of the single-group stage.
On the eve of the match, Niccolò Pisilli spoke from the Trigoria press room.
The Giallorossi midfielder spoke about his possible departure: “The transfer window closes on February 2nd, and I’m focused on Roma, on tomorrow’s match, and on all the games of the season. I’ve played more during this period, training as best I can even when I wasn’t playing; it wasn’t wasted time.”
“When you’re not on the pitch, you train and have more time to show the coach that you’re ready. I’ve tried to give my all, and that’s what I’ll always do.”
Pisilli then spoke about his improvements: “I’ve definitely improved in recent months and have a better understanding of the coach’s demands. When a new coach arrives, you have to adapt to the demands he makes compared to the previous one. I think these past few months have been crucial in understanding the kind of player I needed to become to best play my chances.”
And on the difficulties of “unseating” Manu Koné and Bryan Cristante: “Roma’s midfield is strong, my teammates are strong, and it’s a great opportunity for me to learn. Everyone wants to play more games, but I do my best to make things difficult for the coach. Having so many strong midfielders is good for me, for the coach, for the team, and for the club.”
