Gonzalo Plata left Flamengo's 2-1 win over Red Bull Bragantino on Sunday 20 with pain in the back of his right thigh, and he could yet be withdrawn from Ecuador's call-up.

The club said in a statement that he felt discomfort in the closing minutes, will undergo imaging and be reassessed by the medical department, with the severity still unconfirmed.

The winger, who started the 28th-round match at the Maracanã, was replaced late on by Joaquín Freitas. He registered one shot on target, completed 32 of 38 passes and made 58 actions on the ball.

Plata has been called up by Ecuador for the 2026 FIFA window starting Thursday 24. If an injury is confirmed, head coach Marcelo Gallardo would have to remove him from the squad.
