Plata has posted from Dubai after his 10 million euro switch to Dynamo Moscow collapsed over a failed medical, a verdict Flamengo dispute. The Ecuadorian is now set to rejoin the Rio club on Sunday.

According to Globo.com, Dynamo cited tendinitis in his right knee, while Flamengo point to his recent World Cup and second half of the season appearances. The Russians then signed Maxi Gutiérrez, prompting suspicion at Flamengo that talks were used to push down another price.

That knee issue kept him out in July after he felt pain following the World Cup, and scans identified tendinitis. In Russia he underwent two checks, Flamengo’s data showed no problem before the local medical rejected him.

He has been in full activity without a serious injury, and the board will assess whether to take action over the collapse. He will miss Remo on Sunday in Belém and is a doubt for Independiente del Valle in Ecuador on Thursday.

A day before the collapse, club president Bap’s closed door remarks expressing relief at his sale and alleging nightlife excesses leaked, complicating his return. Flamengo were alerted on Monday, agents tried to resolve the matter, and another transfer looks unlikely with most European windows shut, though the Netherlands is open until Wednesday, Türkiye until Friday, Russia until day 10, and Portugal and Greece until day 15.
