Flamengo said Gonzalo Plata would fly back to Brazil on Friday, but he did not board and remains in Dubai as a move this window stays on the table.

"I am here waiting, because I know they are looking at proposals from clubs here. So I should wait in Dubai at least until Sunday," he told Paparazzo Rubro-Negro.

He is now expected in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. The club were unhappy with the episode, though it is not being treated as indiscipline, and failure to return over the weekend could lead to punishment.

Plata has not trained for one week, since travelling to Russia for a failed switch to Dynamo Moscow. The Russian club said he did not pass medical tests because of a knee problem, a version Flamengo dispute.
