Chelsea’s season has been a little slow to get going, but they’re climbing the table in the Premier League and Champions League.
A win over Wolves at the end of October also put them into the EFL Cup quarter final, which they’ll play in mid December.

They’re just three wins from lifting a trophy in that competition, but according to Matt Law on the London is Blue podcast, it’s not a priority for Enzo Maresca or the club.
“I don’t think the League Cup will come into any particular judgement from the club on the manager, obviously they go into every trophy wanting to win it, and they do want cup runs,” Law said.
“But put it this way, if Mauricio Pochettino had won the Carabao Cup, I don’t think it would have made any difference to his Chelsea future. And that’s the same for all clubs. I don’t think any Premier League club judges their manager on the league cup, frankly.”
We’re not quite sure about that – someone like Newcastle or Everton could probably make a proper bid for the Carabao Cup and have it really affect how their season comes out. But it’s certainly true that it pales in comparison to the importance of where you finish in the league.

Enzo Fernandez has been speaking to the media during the break taking a look back at his time at Chelsea and in particular the crazy saga which saw him sign for the club.
Enzo covered a few other topics, like how he had played a part in getting Moises Caicedo to sign for Chelsea after the team’s hierarchy asked the midfielder to get onto his fellow South American and sell him the project.
