Neco Williams' strike cancelled out Murillo's own goal as it finished all square between Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa.

Both of these teams were coming back from European travels but it was the visitors who looked the freshest of the two sides.

Villa were helped as they took the lead 23 minutes into the game. Morgan Rogers was free on the left and sent in a low ball that Murillo diverted into his own net.

Forest weren't really at the races for much of the first period but levelled the score seven minutes before the break when Neco Williams hammered the ball into the net after it was pulled back to him by Callum Hudson-Odoi.

In the second half, Aston Villa were again the better of the two teams with Youri Tielemans influential for his team. Rogers probably had the best chance to find a winner when Matz Sels parried a shot into the path of the Villa man who blazed an effort over from all of seven yards out.

The home side will certainly be the happier of the two with a point that moves them up to 16th as they look to guarantee survival.

Villa meanwhile will know they really should have found a winner at the City Ground but now match third-place Manchester United on 55 points.
