Porto and Braga overturned deficits in this round, turning it around against Moreirense and Alverca respectively.
According to O Jogo, the team that scores first this season wins 61% of matches. Even so, there have been five comebacks so far, with no club managing more than one.
Across the last five seasons, Sporting lead the turnaround table with 15, two more than Benfica and Braga. The single-season best of the millennium belongs to Braga with nine in 2023/24.
Porto also top the set-piece charts. Bednarek’s equaliser for 1-1 against Moreirense came from a set piece, their fourth such goal, one ahead of Marítimo.
Santa Clara are third on 11 points after five rounds, their best return at this stage across 11 I Liga campaigns, built on three wins and two draws.
At Benfica, Prestianni has started every league game and is their second top scorer behind Pavlidis with three, matching his total for all of last season.
Ac. Viseu’s 1-0 at Gil Vicente was their first win since returning to the I Liga. Their previous top-flight victory came in February 1989, 1-0 against Leixões, when Luís Melo scored in the 75th minute in a side coached by the late Fernando Cabrita.
