Porto beat Arouca 3-1 on Friday at the Estádio do Dragão to remain top of Liga Portugal.

Oskar Pietuszewski opened the scoring in the first minute, turning in Victor Froholdt's pass from close range after VAR confirmed the goal.

After the restart Arouca threatened when Taichi Fukui hit the bar, and Nais Djouahra equalised with a drive from outside the box (70.).

Porto's changes around the hour tilted momentum. Ignacio de Arruabarrena saved well from William, but Terem Moffi's movement stretched the visiting defence and created space.

Seko Fofana drew a foul from Yellu Santiago to win a late penalty. VAR confirmed the spot kick, and William converted in the first minute of second half stoppage time. Moffi then finished from close range in the eighth minute of second half stoppage time after William's pass.

Nine minutes of added time were indicated, and Porto's bench made the difference in those closing stages.

Porto finished with 20 attempts and 56.6% possession. Arouca managed seven attempts, registering one on target.

Next, Porto visit Sporting CP in the Taça de Portugal. Arouca visit Famalicão next.
