Preparations for Freiburg under way | OneFootball

Despite the absence of the internationals from the training ground, the preparations for the next Bundesliga matchday have begun.

Training group still reduced

Robin Koch, Nathaniel Brown, Nnamdi Collins, Arthur Theate, Ellyes Skhiri, Aurèle Amenda, Hugo Larsson, Farès Chaibi, Jean-Mattéo Bahoya, Can Uzun, Oscar Højlund, Ritsu Doan, Michy Batshuayi and Jonathan Burkardt were not yet back from their international travels on Wednesday, while Elias Baum did rehab work following his recent muscle injury.

Head coach Dino Toppmöller and his staff welcomed a total of 13 outfield players and four goalkeepers on the pitch, including youngsters Metehan Yildirim, Jeremiaha Maluze, Fousseny Doumbia, Kaan Inanoglu, Jonas Bauer and Yurij Obert.

While goalkeeping quartet Kaua Santos, Michael Zetterer, Jens Grahl and Obert tested their reactions in one corner of the pitch, the outfield players also picked up the pace after the warm-up with some sprints. The high tempo in the first session of the week continued in the next exercise, in which the Eagles practised crossing and positioning in the penalty box, followed by further match situation drills. The volume was also high with lots of communication, celebration of goals and loud encouragement for successful defensive actions and saves.

Busy second half of October

The second international break of the season is over and Eintracht now return to Bundesliga business. The Eagles visit SC Freiburg on Matchday 7 on Sunday 19 October at 15:30 CEST, for the first of four fixtures between now and the end of the month.
