Gianluca Prestianni may face fresh UEFA action after criticising the body's decision to reject Benfica's appeal on 25 February, before deleting his social media post.
According to A Bola, Benfica's No 25 accused UEFA of using double standards over incidents from the first leg at Estádio da Luz. He highlighted that the body suspended the 20-year-old without evidence confirming racism, while the club's complaint of violent conduct by Federico Valverde was archived.
In his since-deleted message, posted hours before the match in Madrid, he argued that an off-the-ball blow could be seen without sanction while punishment could arrive without proof. He suggested UEFA no longer even hides it with Real, and called the situation a disgrace.
Under UEFA's disciplinary regulations, criticism that undermines the body's credibility can lead to a suspension with no fixed number of matches. The winger may also face a fine ranging from 100 euros to 500,000 euros. Any sanction could be heavy.
This season the Argentine, valued at 12 million euros, has played 30 times for Benfica, including 18 in Liga Portugal Betclic and 7 in the Champions League. He has also featured twice in the Taça de Portugal, twice in the Taça da Liga and once in the Supertaça. Across 1,460 minutes he has two goals and one assist.
