Benfica are close to renewing Gianluca Prestianni’s contract to 2031, with the 20-year-old in line for a pay rise.
MaisFutebol reported that the parties have agreed terms for a two-season extension to 2031, with Correio da Manhã later confirming the story.
Rui Costa pushed the talks after the Argentine’s excellent start to the season, and improving his salary, among the lowest in the squad since arriving in January 2024, was a key aim.
Benfica moved to address that, adjusting his package as he has become a leading figure early in the campaign. The agreement could be finalised soon.
This season Prestianni, valued at €20 million, has played 11 times for Benfica, six in Liga Portugal Betclic and five in the Europa League. Across 753 minutes he has eight goals and two assists.
