Sheffield United and Watford go head-to-head at Bramall Lane this Saturday in the EFL Championship.
Sheffield United currently have 3 points and lie in 24th position. In their last game, Chris Wilder's team lost 1-0 against Hull City (EFL Championship 2025/26).
Watford have 12 points to their name this season and occupy 11th position in the table. In their last match, Javi Gracia's team prevailed 2-1 against Oxford United (EFL Championship 2025/26).
The last meeting between the two teams ended with Sheffield United winning 2-1.
Theo (Allthingsblades): After another international break, United return to Championship football and host Watford at Bramall Lane on Saturday. The Blades have lost every match at their home stadium this season and will be looking to put the poor start to the season in the past and kickstart their season once and for all but it certainly wont be easy. After late heartbreak at the MKM last time out with a Harrison Burrows penalty miss United are now 4 points off of safety but have 3 games in the next 6 days to get things going. I think the international break will have done us some good to allow the team to gel and Wilder to find his strongest 11, it feels like another must win game and the Blades simply have to prove why no one should write them off yet.
Prediction: 2-1
James Batchelor (TheWatfordWay): Watford make the trip to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United as Javi Gracia begins his second stint in charge of the Hornets, while Chris Wilder comes up against his former club.
Our cheerful Spaniard is back in the dugout, and Watford fans couldnt be more delighted - the season truly starts now. Aside from Giorgi Chakvetadze, the Hornets head into this game with a fully fit squad.
During Javis first spell at the club, he often set the team up in a 4-4-2 - or more specifically, a 4-2-2-2 - formation. At Leeds, however, he tended to favour a 4-3-3 setup, while this season under Paulo Pezzolano Watford primarily operated with a back five.
There are no doubts that if Watford are successful this season, Javi will have firmly cemented himself as one of the clubs greats - and Im sure hell be happily sipping his sangria if we achieve promotion.
Prediction: 1-1
Sheffield United ( vs Hull City 2025-10-04): Michael Cooper, Japhet Tanganga, Mark McGuinness, Ben Mee, Chiedozie Ogbene, Alex Matos, Sydie Peck, Sam McCallum, Gustavo Hamer, Tyrese Campbell, Callum O´Hare
Watford ( vs Oxford United 2025-10-04): Egil Selvik, Max Alleyne, Kévin Keben, James Abankwah, Imran Louza, Jeremy Ngakia, Nampalys Mendy, Caleb Wiley, Rocco Vata, Vivaldo Semedo, Nestory Irankunda
