During the summer transfer window, PSG winger Bradley Barcola’s name surfaced in multiple transfer rumors. In a squad brimming with talent, it’s understandable that some players explore opportunities for more consistent playing time.

Barcola faced challenges securing a regular spot, competing with teammates like Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, which only added to the speculation about a potential departure.

In July, RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins reported that two conditions would have to align for Barcola to leave PSG: he would need to want out, and the club would need an offer exceeding €100 million. Neither condition was met, even with reported interest from Liverpool and other clubs.

RMC journalist Fabrice Hawkins recently revealed that Barcola’s situation has become so frustrating that he is seriously contemplating a transfer, which makes his contract extension talks with PSG one to watch closely to see if the player feels he has a place as a top star at the club.

“The question came up,” Hawkins said (h/t Le10Sport). “It didn’t get much attention in the media because the club handled it very well. In terms of communication, it’s a masterclass. They managed to act as a pressure release on something that could have made more noise. Barcola asked himself real questions.

“He was performing, then they put Kvara in front of him, who became a starter. There’s the emergence of Doué. Small things that frustrate a player. Bayern Munich and Liverpool made very strong approaches. He seriously considered it. The contract extension situation will need to be followed closely.”
