Vinícius Jr.’s long-term standing at Real Madrid suddenly feels less secure, and PSG may sense an opening. Once the 2025-26 campaign wraps up, the Brazilian forward will be down to a single year on a deal that runs through June 2027.
That leaves Madrid weighing whether to push for a new agreement soon or think about a sale next summer instead of letting his contract wind down.
With Kylian Mbappé arriving last year, the club could view this as a moment to maximize Vinícius’ value and reshape the roster around their Real Madrid star.
SPORT has noted before that Vinícius would be open to playing for Luis Enrique in Paris. How this plays out is still unclear, though Mbappé could watch a scenario unfold that echoes Neymar Jr.’s departure from Spain.

The latest report from SPORT reveals (h/t Le10Sport) that PSG are keeping a close eye on the situation, though it’s tough to see Luis Enrique approving a move for Vinícius. Still, in France, the idea of the 25-year-old winger joining to get back at Real Madrid after Kylian Mbappé’s departure hasn’t been dismissed.
What remains unclear is whether Real Madrid are going to settle Vinícius’ contract extension in time. If they don’t, the club will likely want to avoid losing him for free in the summer of 2027 and could set a transfer fee for 2026.
Nonetheless, amid the Vinícius rumors, the chief editor of Football Transfers, Robin Bairner, gave a blunt warning to PSG about the Real Madrid star.
“I can barely think of a player less suited to PSG in terms of their attitude than Vini Jr.,” Bairner wrote on X.
Furthermore, journalist Sacha Tavolieri revealed that Real Madrid has set a €150 million price tag on Vinícius. His relationship with manager Xabi Alonso is reportedly tense, leaving the door open for a possible move.
