The club said in a statement on Wednesday that Erick Pulgar has extended his Flamengo contract to 2029.

He said he is very happy and that this is what he and his family wanted. He added that perseverance has shaped him and called the supporters’ affection his greatest prize.

Pulgar joined in 2022, debuting on 28 August in a 1-0 win over Botafogo in the 24th round of the Brasileirão, and has since made 172 appearances.

In that time he has 107 wins, 39 draws and 26 defeats, with six goals and nine assists. At 32, he is a regular presence in the squad.

For Chile he has 54 caps and four goals, and he won the 2016 Copa América.

His Flamengo honours include the Libertadores in 2022 and 2025, the Brasileirão in 2025, the Copa do Brasil in 2024, and three Cariocas from 2024 to 2026.

The new agreement follows talks that gathered pace in recent weeks after his release clause dropped to an accessible level. He had been tied to 2027, and Flamengo had already extended his terms in March 2025.

Pulgar is available on Wednesday 02 when Flamengo face Mirassol at 19:30 Brasília time at the Maracanã, live on Premiere pay-per-view.
