According to L’Équipe, Olympique Lyonnais have identified the midfield as a key area to strengthen during the upcoming January transfer window.
Lyon were handed a boost this week. The DNCG’s restrictions have been eased, meaning that the club will be able to spend big in January in order to save themselves from potential relegation to Ligue 2. A central defender, a winger and a striker are areas in which OL want to strengthen, however, they will also be in the market for a midfielder.
With Corentin Tolisso repeatedly dogged by the injuries that ruined his career at Bayern Munich, high-quality reinforcements are necessary, and Lyon have identified three targets. Real Betis’ Guido Rodriguez (29), whose contract expires in the summer, is one option, but AC Milan’s Rade Krunić (30) is perhaps a more accessible target, according to L’Équipe. Currently, Fenerbahçe are leading in the race to sign the Bosnian midfielder, whose contract with the Serie A club expires in 2025.
Stade Rennais’ Baptiste Santamaria (28) is once again a target. The Frenchman was a target in the summer, and Les Gones could return for the Rennes midfielder. However, his contract runs until 2025, and it may be difficult to sign him from a Ligue 1 rival.
