Corinthians will no longer have Rafa Esteves in the women’s academy leadership. She has said her goodbyes and is due to confirm her next move shortly.
According to Fut das Minas, her likely destination is Mirassol, which must organise a women’s team this season after qualifying for the Copa Libertadores. CONMEBOL requires participating clubs to run a women’s side.
At Mirassol, Esteves would move into a senior position, leaving youth operations at Corinthians to manage the professional women’s programme at the São Paulo state club.
Grêmio also approached Esteves about an executive role in women’s football. The club have instead appointed Bárbara Fonseca from Cruzeiro, with her term to begin in 2026.
Esteves has led Corinthians’ girls’ pathway since March 2024. Over two seasons she handled administrative management, structure, contracts and internal demands, following four years in women’s football management at Ferroviária.
