The Ibrox hierarchy has set the wheels in motion for a sensational return. According to transfer insider Ekrem Konur on X, Rangers are actively probing Tottenham Hotspur over a fresh loan deal for teenage sensation Mikey Moore.
Spurs have clamped down on any talk of a permanent sale. They value the player at £16 million and see his long-term future in North London, but that hasn’t deterred the Glasgow giants from chasing a temporary compromise. It is a bold move. The winger absolutely electrified the Scottish Premiership last season, bagging six goals in 28 league outings. He didn’t just impress; he dominated, walking away with both the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award and the club’s internal Player of the Year trophy.
Fans desperately wanted him bought outright this summer. Johan Lange said no. Now, the board must pivot back to the loan market to get their man.

The pressure on new manager Derek McInnes is already immense. He inherited a squad that crumbled to a dismal third-place finish last term, and a massive overhaul is required. McInnes will need direct, aggressive wide men who press high, win the ball back, and stretch defensive lines with sheer pace. Moore is a perfect profile for this need.
Alternative targets in the current market carry massive financial risk. Buying a proven under-20 winger requires astronomical fees that simply don’t exist in the current Ibrox budget. Bringing back a teenager who already understands the unique pressure cooker of Glasgow makes complete sense. He proved last year that he can unlock stubborn low blocks at home and hurt teams on the counter during high-stakes away fixtures.
Some pundits might question how a flair player adapts to the pragmatic discipline McInnes usually demands. That misses the point entirely. The Spurs starlet developed a fierce defensive work rate during his first stint in Scotland. He tracks back.
Losing out on his signature leaves a massive creative void in the squad. Spending millions on unproven European imports is a gamble Rangers cannot afford right now, especially when a double award-winner wants to come back. The club need to finalise this agreement swiftly to give McInnes the explosive offensive firepower needed to mount a genuine title challenge against Celtic. This temporary fix is the low-risk, high-reward solution the board needs.
