Speaking to Kicker, Rani Khedira spoke about the possibility of signing a new contract with Union Berlin as his current deal expires at the end of the season.

When asked about a possible extension, Khedira said:

“There have already been discussions. With me and with my management. These dialogues were very appreciative and I have also often emphasized that I feel very comfortable in the association. I enjoy working with the environment and the people in the club. Of course, I can therefore imagine staying here. Union is definitely my first point of contact.”

The 28-year-old joined Union in 2021 on a free transfer from Augsburg and has made 66 appearances during his time in Berlin. He has played all but one game for Union in the Bundesliga this season and was key in their early season form which resulted in them spending time at the top of the table.

Union currently finds themselves fifth in the table have suffered from a poor run of form before the World Cup break.
