Real Madrid may have completed four signings already this summer, but their transfer business is far from over.
According to Matteo Moretto of MARCA, Los Blancos remain fully committed to bringing in another centre-back before the transfer window closes.
It must be noted that the club has already strengthened several areas of Jose Mourinho’s squad with the arrivals of Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries and Bernardo Silva, yet the defensive rebuild is reportedly still ongoing.
The report suggests that adding another central defender remains one of the club’s biggest priorities, with Mourinho personally involved in identifying potential targets.
While analysing Real Madrid’s summer plans, Moretto revealed that the club’s intentions leave little room for doubt.
“I’ve been told they are 100% committed to signing another centre-back,” he said.

Despite signing Konate already and renewing Antonio Rudiger’s contract, the Portuguese manager wants additional depth and competition in a position he considers crucial to the success of his project.
As a result, Real Madrid continue to monitor several profiles across Europe as they evaluate the best option available on the market.
According to Moretto, Mourinho has already become actively involved in the process.
In fact, the Real Madrid manager has been making enquiries about multiple defenders, with two names standing out in particular.
“Mourinho is calling, sounding out, asking about Rúben Dias from City and Araujo,” said Moretto.
Rúben Dias would represent an established and proven option, while Tomos Araujo offers a different profile.

The Benfica defender is considered one of Portugal’s brightest young defensive talents and has attracted attention from several major clubs thanks to his development over recent seasons.
Both players fit the type of defender Mourinho is believed to admire, albeit for different reasons.
The search certainly does not end there, with Moretto also identifying Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck as another name being discussed at Real Madrid.
Unlike some of the club’s other targets, the German international may present a more straightforward opportunity.
“Schlotterbeck has a release clause, so he can leave more easily,” says the journalist.
That contractual detail could make the Dortmund defender one of the most accessible options available should Real Madrid decide to accelerate their pursuit.
