Real are of course currently locked in action, in the opening fixture of their 2026/27 campaign. Hopeful of getting the new Mourinho era up-and-running in positive fashion, Los Blancos have made the trip to Catalunya, to take on Espanyol.

And though the visitors did indeed get out of the blocks well, taking the lead early on through Jude Bellingham, they have since been pegged back by a game Espanyol side.

With groans of discontent already mounting regarding the level of the performance being produced by their side, the Real Madrid faithful then took firm aim at their side’s new headmaster midway through the 2nd-half.

Arda Güler was afforded a starting berth at the RCDE Stadium, and looked Los Merengues’ standout performer throughout much of the clash.

With the likes of Vinícius Jr. and Bernardo Silva struggling to make a positive impact, Real’s fans were in turn left bemused upon Arda’s number flashing across the 4th official’s board, signalling the end of the Turk’s evening shortly after the hour mark:
