Real Madrid have made it a point to retain some degree of control over young players leaving the club after their cycle with Castilla comes to an end.
Los Merengues, more often than not, retain 50% economic rights of the departing youngsters while also retaining buyback options for the future so that they can re-sign the players if their development is impressive.
Victor Munoz left Real Madrid for CA Osasuna last summer in a similar deal and after an impressive breakthrough campaign, the former La Fabrica winger is set for another big move.
Indeed, according to journalist Ramon Alvarez, Newcastle United appear set to sign Victor Munoz from Osasuna, which would guarantee a significant windfall for Real Madrid.

As per the report, the Spanish capital giants stand to earn as much as €17.5 million from the operation – half of the €35 million that the Premier League giants are offering for the winger.
There had been talks of Real Madrid considering re-signing Munoz this summer following his solid season with Osasuna, which also earned him his maiden call-up to the Spain national team.
After all, Los Blancos had an affordable buyback clause on the winger, which they could have easily activated. However, the club decided not to activate it and the attacker is now bound for the Premier League.

Considering that Real Madrid are planning major moves in the transfer market this summer, any economic boost is welcome.
And, getting €17.5 million from a former academy player’s move to Newcastle will certainly be welcomed at Valdebebas.
