Real Madrid spends the most: Bayern surprises in the million-euro rankings | OneFootball

FC Bayern ranks among the absolute elite of European soccer—not only in terms of athletic performance but also economically. This is underscored by new figures on ticket revenue from top clubs. The Munich-based club is far ahead of its domestic competitors.

The data is based on a UEFA dataset from 2025. According to this data, the German record champion earns an average of 5.9 million euros from ticket sales on a typical league home match day. This puts Bayern in fourth place in a European comparison.

Only three clubs generate even higher revenue. Real Madrid leads the ranking with an average of 7.9 million euros. They are followed by Paris Saint-Germain with 6.7 million euros and Arsenal FC with 6.1 million euros.

Bayern earns 5.9 million euros per home game

Bayern’s figures are also noteworthy because the club is known for its comparatively affordable tickets in certain sections of the Allianz Arena. In particular, the standing-room-only sections in the South Stand are deliberately offered at fan-friendly prices.

The high total revenue is accordingly generated through other categories. These include higher-priced seats as well as hospitality and VIP packages.

FC Barcelona follows Bayern in fifth place with an average of 5.4 million euros. However, the renovation and modernization of Camp Nou could significantly boost the Catalans’ revenue potential in the future.

Within Germany, Bayern’s lead is currently enormous. Surprisingly, it is not Borussia Dortmund but VfB Stuttgart that ranks as the second-best Bundesliga club. The Swabians generate 3.4 million euros per home game, placing them tenth in Europe.

BVB Trails FC Bayern by a Wide Margin

Eintracht Frankfurt ranks 21st in Europe with 2.4 million euros. Borussia Dortmund follows in 23rd place, generating an average of 2.3 million euros per home league match, according to UEFA.

This means Bayern earns more than two and a half times as much in ticket revenue per matchday as BVB. Despite the enormous capacity of Dortmund’s stadium, the pricing structure plays an important role here. The large South Stand offers a particularly large number of comparatively affordable seats.

Other German clubs also made it into the European top 50. These include RB Leipzig, Werder Bremen, 1. FC Köln, Borussia Mönchengladbach, SC Freiburg, and Mainz 05, among others.

For Bayern, fourth place once again underscores the immense economic strength of the Allianz Arena. Although the record champion deliberately charges moderate prices for some of its tickets, a home game in Munich is financially one of the most lucrative matchdays in all of European club soccer.
