Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé was forced to sit out group training with the France national team on Tuesday morning. This comes with the attacker dealing with a bout of illness.

Mbappé was for his part afforded an expected place in the French camp for the extended international break last week.

Following the appointment of Zinedine Zidane in Les Bleus’ dugout, the 27-year-old is set to continue acting as both his country’s captain, and a mainstay in their attacking setup.

As alluded to above, though, upon Zidane leading his players out for his maiden training session as France headmaster on Tuesday, Mbappé was nowhere to be seen.

That’s according to journalist Ilies Peeters, who has confirmed that:

‘Kylian Mbappé is the victim of a flu-like syndrome; he did not take part in the Blues’ training session today.’

The problem is not thought to be a serious one, with Real Madrid’s top scorer therefore expected back in the thick of things before the week is out.
