Real Madrid told to ‘forget about’ Florentino Perez target

Real Madrid are yet to make a blockbuster signing this summer, even if they have been making a number of moves already. After their €150m bid for Julian Alvarez was turned down on Tuesday though, there is no sign of the Galactico signing that President Florentino Perez has promised so far.

Joining Jose Mourinho at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer will be Ibrahima Konate, Denzel Dumfries and it looks like Bernardo Silva too, after the departing Manchester City midfielder was persuaded to turn down offers from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Where the next blockbuster signing is coming from is not yet clear though.

The three names mentioned that could be the subject of Los Blancos’ major bid were Vitinha, Joao Neves and Michael Olise. Vitinha has been a long-standing ‘dream’ of Real Madrid’s to plug the gap in their midfield, while Neves is a more recent addition to their wishlist. Olise’s name has begun to appear in conjunction with Real Madrid over recent months, with President Florentino Perez reportedly impressed by his showing against them in the Champions League.

Yet Christian Falk has told Bayern Insider that Bayern feel they have sufficient money in their coffers to feel that they can turn down any offer made for Olise. Direct information from Bayern President Herbert Hainer is that Real Madrid can ‘keep their money’ and ‘forget about’ a bid for their French winger.

Paris Saint-Germain hold interest in Olise

Despite Bayern’s stance, L’Equipe have reported that PSG believe that they can pull off a deal for Olise. They have been linked with another of France’s stars, but are still well-stocked in attack. It seems likely that if Olise were to sign for PSG, then it would trigger the exit of another star.
