Real Madrid training confirms boost before Athletic Club | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid were on Monday afforded some welcome positive news on the personnel front.

This came by way of Raúl Asencio’s return to training alongside the rest of Xabi Alonso’s squad.

Defender Asencio was for his part of course forced to sit out yesterday evening, as his Real Madrid teammates made the trip to Catalunya for a La Liga meeting with Girona.

After missing training over the days prior owing to a bout of illness, the Spaniard was not risked at the Estadi Montilivi, as Los Blancos stuttered to another disappointing share of the spoils.

This morning, though, Asencio was back in the thick of things at Valdebebas.

As showcased in the photo below, provided by COPE, the 22-year-old took part in sections of training with his teammates.

The expectation, in turn, is that Asencio will be called up for Real Madrid’s trip to Athletic Club on Wednesday night.
