Álex Remiro was Real Sociedad’s standout at the Bernabéu despite conceding four, with player ratings marked zero to five.
According to Diario Vasco, Madrid led through Kylian Mbappé, his touch taking Jon Martín out of the play. Job Ochieng then created the 1-1 from a Sergio Gómez long pass, before the hosts made it 3-1 after Luken Beitia’s error.
Remiro earned three for sharp saves from Mbappé and Vinícius with his feet. Jon Mikel Aramburu, also three, contained Vinícius before going off as a precaution. Gómez, three, went close with a volley.
Luka Sucic, three, finally got his Bernabéu goal but lost the ball too often. Yangel Herrera, two, passed neatly yet was booked undeservedly. Take Kubo, one, was off the pace and did not track Carreras.
Martín, two, battled on the left. Beitia, two, endured a testing night, his risky dribble preceding the 3-1. Igor Zubeldia, two, operated at full-back and coped with Vinícius.
Mikel Oyarzabal, two, lasted 55 minutes, drawing a Courtois save and teeing up a Sergio volley. Soler, Óskarsson, Barrenetxea and returning Guedes made little impact.
Coach Pellegrino Matarazzo, two, has two away defeats and a demanding home league opener ahead, but was bold with Beitia and Ochieng and used Zubeldia wide. Points from Liga and Copa del Rey feed a 41-year DV de Oro, with supporters also able to rate.
