Real Sociedad players set for clubmate duels and long-haul travel in international break | OneFootball

Diario Vasco reports that nine Real Sociedad players have been called up in the season’s first international break. Oyarzabal, Sucic, Óskarsson, Aramburu, Herrera, Kubo, Sarr, Ochieng and Jon Martín will play on while their team-mates take six days off.

The Nations League and Africa Cup of Nations qualifying headline the schedule, though some will travel for friendlies only. Oyarzabal, Sucic and Óskarsson each have four games.

Spain begin on Saturday against England at Wembley, starting the reigning world champions’ Nations League defence. They then meet Croatia and the Czech Republic, with Croatia faced twice, one of this break’s clubmate duels.

Sucic, in the same group, will face Spain, the Czech Republic and England, opening against the Czechs on Saturday at 20.45. Óskarsson’s Iceland play Estonia twice, plus Luxembourg and Bulgaria.

In Africa, Sarr and Ochieng play two AFCON qualifiers. Sarr’s Senegal play Mozambique on Friday and Ethiopia on Tuesday 29, then a friendly with Comoros on Sunday four October. Ochieng’s Kenya face Eritrea on Saturday and Guinea on Thursday one October.

Aramburu and Herrera play friendlies against Japan, South Korea and Jordan, and will reunite with Kubo on Monday 28. Japan also have friendlies, against Venezuela, Uruguay and Ecuador.

Jon Martín features in three under-21 Euro qualifiers, against Finland on Friday, San Marino on Thursday one October and Romania on day six. The nine will miss Matarazzo’s Euskal Herria Txapela final against Athletic on Friday two October. Some return only days before the league game with Dépor at Anoeta.
