Sunderland are back in Premier League action against Everton on Sunday, with Régis Le Bris weighing up key selection calls after an impressive showing against Manchester United.

According to Sunderland Echo, both sides are chasing a top-half finish and retain an outside chance of Europe if they end the season strongly, with Le Bris set to decide on his XI and bench from a strong group.

In goal, Robin Roefs is coming off a clean sheet, capped by a sharp late save, and will look to maintain that form.

At right back, Lutsharel Geertruida is likely to leave in the summer, yet his inclusion last week underlined Le Bris’s focus on the present. Having impressed, he appears well placed to keep his spot.

Nordi Mukiele is ideally a right back, but with Ballard missing last week Le Bris’s reshuffle worked and he looked comfortable in central defence. On that basis, he seems likely to continue there.

Omar Alderete has been among the first names on the teamsheet this season, and his place at centre back seems unlikely to change.
