Régis Le Bris's Sunderland XI and bench to face Everton predicted

Sunderland return to Premier League duty on Sunday afternoon against Everton, with Régis Le Bris weighing up selection calls after a strong display at Manchester United last weekend. Both sides are chasing a top-half finish and keep an outside shot at Europe if they end the campaign strongly.

According to Sunderland Echo, this is how his XI could shape up.

Goalkeeper Robin Roefs kept a valuable clean sheet last week with a sharp late save, and he will look to carry that momentum into this fixture.

At right-back, Lutsharel Geertruida appears highly likely to leave this summer, but last week’s selection underlined Le Bris is focused on the present. A standout performer on the day, he has surely earned the right to keep his place.

Sunderland would ideally use Nordi Mukiele at right-back, yet the reshuffle in Ballard’s absence worked. Comfortable at centre-back and having performed well, he seems likely to continue there.

Omar Alderete has been among the first names on the teamsheet this season, and after a clean sheet last time out, that seems highly unlikely to change.
