According to Ouest-France and Le Parisien, Rennes are close to signing Troyes goalkeeper Nicolas Lemaître to serve as Brice Samba’s back-up. The proposed deal is two years plus an option and he would arrive on a free.

Lemaître, 29, has 109 Ligue 2 appearances.

Last season’s deputy, Mathys Silistrie, 20, under contract until 2029, is likely to be loaned.

Separately, the move for American right-back Bryan Reynolds is progressing and could be concluded for around four million euros.

The 24-year-old plays for Westerlo.
