With Xabi Alonso installed as their new manager, Chelsea face a critical summer with a number of areas of the squad requiring reinforcements.
Chelsea are said to still be in the market for a centre back, whilst it’s believed they want to add another midfielder and attacker.
It’s been reported Alonso will have a say in transfers, which is more than Enzo Maresca was given, and Chelsea simply can’t afford to get the recruitment wrong this summer.
Co-owner Behdad Eghbali has said the model will be tweaked, but fans will only believe it when they see it, with the Blues in desperate need of more experienced players with leadership.
Chelsea need reinforcements defensively and have been linked with both Murillo and Jan Paul van Hecke, but there appears to be another name on their radar.
TEAMtalk have reported the Blues are weighing up a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Tapsoba, with Alonso said to have doubt over the current defensive options.
The report adds Tapsoba is one of the players whose future could come under scrutiny, with Chelsea said to view him internally as someone who fits their recruitment strategy perfectly.
The 27-year-old is under contract until 2031, and has scored five goals and registered three assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.
