Report David targeted by Aston Villa, loan with obligation to buy from Juventus | OneFootball

Juventus and Canada striker Jonathan David has been approached by Aston Villa for a loan with obligation to buy, claim reports in Italy.

There had already been many suggestions the CANMNT forward was on the market just 12 months after he joined as a free agent, although the €12m in various commissions and bonuses made him far from free.

Finding a buyer has proved to be difficult, but Tuttomercatoweb and Radio Sportiva reporter Marco Conterio suggests that Aston Villa are ready to provide a solution.

He claims the Premier League side is eager to snap David up on loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.

This is a significant improvement on the previous reporting that they only wanted a loan with option.

The 26-year-old has played in Europe since 2018 for KAA Gent, Lille and then Juventus, but his tally of eight goals and five assists in 46 games for the Bianconeri was disappointing.

David only started 27 of those matches, falling down the pecking order as the season went on and when Dusan Vlahovic returned from injury.
