Lyon are in talks over a January loan move for forgotten Chelsea star Axel Disasi until the end of the season according to reports.

Disasi had all summer to sort a move out, but nothing materialised and he ended up staying at Chelsea having spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa.

It’s believed the France international had interest from a number of clubs, and the Frenchman reportedly turned down several loan moves on deadline day.

Lyon in talks over loan move for Axel Disasi

Disasi is part of the now infamous bomb squad at Chelsea, and is training away from the first team until he sorts a transfer.

There had been reports Disasi could be reintegrated after he was seen in first team training during the November international break.

Disasi has been playing for Chelsea’s development side.

Enzo Maresca has confirmed several times there’s no way back for the 27-year-old, and Disasi has been playing for the under-21s to maintain some level of fitness.

With the January window fast approaching Chelsea will be hoping to find a solution, and L’Equipe have reported Lyon are in talks over a loan move until the end of the season.

The report adds both Disasi and Chelsea are open to the move, but it’s not certain Lyon will pursue the deal given the Ligue 1 outfit are looking for someone who can come straight into the team.

Murillo not on Chelsea’s radar

Whilst Chelsea are hoping to move Disasi on as soon as possible, one defender who won’t be arriving at the club is Nottingham Forest’s Murillo.

The Blues have held long standing interest in Murillo, but according to The Athletic he’s no longer on Chelsea’s radar.

It looks unlikely a centre back will arrive in January, whilst the Blues could add Aaron Anselmino and Mamadou Sarr to their defensive options next summer, with the duo impressing out on loan so far this season.
